Book One of Aelderen Solstice
A prophecy. A broken girl. A ruler feared as a monster.
And a promise that will change the fate of two worlds.
As a boy, he made a promise he would carry for years:
“I will find your daughter one day.”
He kept it.
Born beneath the winter solstice, Snow was marked by prophecy as the Witness, a child meant to stand where light confronts shadow. But destiny offered her no protection from the cruelty of the man who raised her.
Years later, Lord Mason, a ruler feared across kingdoms for the darkness he commands, returns with the girl he swore to find. She was written into the prophecy long before anyone knew her name or her role in it. She is shattered. And Mason may be the very thing the prophecy was meant to stop.
As ancient powers awaken and a fracture between realms begins to tear open, the truth of the prophecy begins to unfold. Light alone cannot hold back the darkness.
When the longest night falls, Snow and Mason must choose whether their bond will save the realms or become the force that breaks them.
Because the prophecy was wrong about one thing.
She was never meant to be saved.
She was meant to rise.
The Story
Long before kingdoms rose, before stone towers broke the horizon, the world endured the Longest Night— a darkness that should have swallowed everything. It did not. A single spark of living light survived, hidden within the ancient forest of Aelderen, and from that night forward, the world remembered its rhythm.
Now the seam between worlds grows thin. Something ancient presses against the veil, patient and hungry, older than memory. The Forest of Aelderen stirs. The First Tree wakens. And the prophecy of the Book of First Light stirs from its long sleep: a child born beneath the longest night shall rise as the Solstice Witness — called not only to see the fate of the world, but to decide it.
That child is Snow. Raised in the shadow of secrets, carrying a light within her skin that she cannot yet control, Snow must navigate a world of fractured crowns, ancient corruptions, and a bond with the enigmatic Mason — the Umbral Sovereign — that could be either her salvation or her undoing.
A dark fantasy woven with ancient mythology, forbidden prophecy, and a love story as enduring as the solstice itself — Snow Ascending is the first chapter in an epic series that will span realms, test the balance of light and shadow, and ask whether hope can survive a darkness that has opened its eyes.
